The fool hath said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt and have done abominable iniquity; there is none that doeth good.
For the Chief Musician; set to Mahalath. Maschil of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good.
To the Chief Musician; in a mournful strain. A skillful song, or didactic or reflective poem of David. The [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt and evil, and have committed repulsive injustice; There is no one who does good.
The [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt and evil are they, and doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

(A special psalm by David for the music leader. To the tune “Mahalath.”) Only a fool would say, “There is no God!” People like that are worthless! They are heartless and cruel and never do right.
To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Unto the end, In verses, understanding for David.
To the director: Use the mahalath. A maskil of David. Only fools think there is no God. People like that are evil and do terrible things. They never do what is right.
David wrote this special song for the music leader. Use the music called Mahalath. A fool thinks that there is no God. People like that are bad. They do evil things. None of them does anything that is good.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They commit horrible evil. There is no one who does good.
To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

Fools say ·to themselves [L in their hearts], “There is no God [C Psalm 14 largely parallels this psalm].” ·Fools are evil [L They are corrupt] and do ·terrible [detestable] things [Deut. 32:5]; none of them does anything good.

To him that excelleth on Mahalath. A Psalm of David to give instruction. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God, they have corrupted and done abominable wickedness, there is none that doeth good.

Fools say to themselves, “There is no God.” They are all corrupt, and they have done terrible things; there is no one who does what is right.
For the choir director: on Mahalath. A Davidic Maskil. The fool says in his heart, “God does not exist.” They are corrupt, and they do vile deeds. There is no one who does good.
For the director of music. By mahalath. A maskil of David. A wicked fool says to himself, “There is no God.” Fools are evil. They do terrible things. None of them does anything good.
To the Director: Upon machalath. A Davidic instruction. Fools say to themselves “There is no God.” They are corrupt and commit iniquity; not one of them practices what is good.
To the Overcomer upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. ¶ The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves and have done abominable iniquity; there is no one that does good.

Only a fool would say to himself, “There is no God.” And why does he say it? Because of his wicked heart, his dark and evil deeds. His life is corroded with sin.
Bilious and bloated, they gas, “God is gone.” It’s poison gas— they foul themselves, they poison Rivers and skies; thistles are their cash crop. God sticks his head out of heaven. He looks around. He’s looking for someone not stupid— one man, even, God-expectant, just one God-ready woman.
For the Music Director. According to Mahalath. A Contemplative Maskil of David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abhorrent injustice; there is none who does good.
For the choir director; according to mahalath, a maskil by David. Godless fools say in their hearts, “There is no Elohim.” They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. There is no one who does good things.
For the leader; according to Mahalath. A maskil of David.

To the overcomer by the quire, the learning of David. The unwise man said in his heart, God is not. They be corrupt, and made abominable in their wickednesses; none is that doeth good. (To the overcomer, or the victor, the teaching of David. The fool said in his heart, There is no God. Such men be corrupt, and they be made abominable in their wickednesses; there is no one who doeth good, no not one.)
